The hurricane season apparently is about to get busier.

There's a high chance - 70 percent - of a tropical cyclone forming in the Atlantic Ocean within five days, according to the National Hurricane Center.

The Global Forecast System model is "bullish on tropical cyclone development over next 7-10 days," according to a tweet by Gary Szatkowski, meteorologist in charge of the National Weather Service Mount Holly Office. "Last 4 runs develop something & bring it north off the East Coast."

"And the GFS has had a hot hand with tropical cyclone forecasting in the Western Pacific this season. Worth keeping an eye on," according to another Szatkowski tweet.

At 12:47 p.m., Szatkowski tweeted "and make that 5 model runs in a row for the GFS bringing something tropical northward off the East Coast early next week."
